April 13th Pracownia Gier Szkoleniowych conducted in Rio de Janeiro a workshop based on the HexGame simulation within the frame of the Latin American Forum on Global Governance. Participants of the forum were employees of government and international institutions as well as companies from Europe, the Americas, Asia and Australia.

The workshop is based on  a leadership model described by McKinsey experts, which suggests that the achievement of organizational goals requires from leaders two sets of competencies:

  • Strategic and system thinking – to build an efficient and  operational organization system
  • Self-awareness – to influence efficiently people working within the system. ,

The HEXGame simulation faces participants with a series of challenges that leaders usually meet in the management of matrix organizations in a situation of uncertainty and crisis. It demonstrates the importance of communication and coordination of activities among organizational units (countries, regions, departments) and makes people aware of cooperation and strategy realization challenges in a situation of restricted resources.

Latin American Forum on Global Governance is an intensive, 10-day seminar organized by ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius Foundation and Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV). The aim of the Bucerius Summer School is to foster leadership qualities among young professionals by opening a cross-border dialogue on current questions of global relevance. Participants will be inspired by – and learn from – high profile speakers who are eminent public figures in politics, business, academia and the NGO sphere.
